Peter Mackie debut when he came on as a sub for Frank Munro. He had one other start in the League Cup that season and played in two league games (1 as sub). The following season (his last) he played two league games, both as a sub. He signed for Dundee FC in 79/80 and played for them 151 times, scoring 19 goals. In 1984 he signed for St Mirren, 45 appearances, 4 goals. During 1986/87 he was back in Glasgow with Partick Thistle as one of Derek Johnstone's first signings, 36 appearances, 3 goals.
