8 April 2002
Filbert Street, Leicester
This is the first ever leicester v Celtic programme. The two clubs had never met before tonight's match. However, Leicester have a history of playing friendly matches against the Huns - five friendlies since 1894. The programme has 32 B5 pages, 9 are adverts and it cost £2. The front cover has a blue to green vertical fountain fill for a background, both club crests (Leicester's above Celtic's) in the middle of two action pictures of Matt Elliott and Neil Lennon side by side at the bottom of the page.
One month after the match against Celtic, Leicester City played for the last time at their Filbert Street ground. They had been playing there since 1891 but a new era awaited them just 400 yards away from the old ground at the brand new Walker Stadium. The last match was actually against Tottenham Hotspur on 11th of May 2003 and a 100 page souvenir programme commemorating the 111 years of football at the Foxes' famous ground was published to celebrate the occassion.
