The unveiling of the Brother Walfrid memorial statue was held on Saturday, 5th November 2005 at Celtic Park. The statue of Brother Walfrid, the central figure in the founding and early history of Celtic Football Club, has been placed outside the main entrance to the Park as a permanent tribute to the great man.
Financed entirely by donations from Celtic fans from around the world, it is a 9ft-high bronze and was created by Glasgow sculptor Kate Robinson. During the ceremony, Brian Quinn gave a moving speech on the charitable origins of Celtic and the need to feed and clothe the poor and hungry Irish immigrants that lived in Glasgow's East End.
The statue was blessed by the Archbishop of Glasgow Mario Conti and unveiled by former player Sean Fallon in front of the hundreds of fans that turned up to watch the historic event.
The four page publication is printed in full colour on Novatech matt 250gsm board.
