18-years old Tommy Burns competative debut. Tommy became a Celtic legend and went on to play 503 times and scored 84 goals. He returned to Celtic as Manager in season 1994/95 until he resigned on 2nd May 1997. Tommy was capped 8 times by Scotland.

Billy McNeill's last game for Celtic as he retires from playing football. He had played an amazing 832 games for Celtic.

At the end of this season Jimmy Johnstone (San Hose Earthquakes) and Jim Brogan were given free transfers. Jim Brogan was made captain for his final game, the Glasgow Cup final match against Rangers, on May 10, 1975.
