CELTIC PARK, GLASGOW

Celtic beat clyde 8-2 on aggregate in the first round and joined Bristol City, St Mirren, Burnley, Morton, Oldham Athletic, Partick Thistle and Mansfield Town in the quarter-final draw. Burnley went on to win the cup beating Oldham Athletic 4-1 in a two-legged final.

Davie Provan made his debut in a 3-2 win against Partick Thistle at Firhill just four days before but the Burnley match was his first at Celtic Park.
